I saw them as opening acts a couple of times in the mid 80s. He played with such power i was amazed at how he kept from breaking heads back then. It looked like he was taking full power swings at the snare each time.

44 years later from my first KISS concert experience in 1979 to this last in 2023, Gene Simmons spitting blood in his bass solo and playing into "God of Thunder" is still to this day the most shock and awe rock song moment in any show ever. Still gives me chills with his Dracula meets Godzilla moment onstage. Nothing will ever match this epic monster moment in a concert ever again.
